Study Purposes
The following qualification goals are at the center of the master's program:
- The program deepens theoretical knowledge in the field of gender studies in the political and social sciences. This sharpens the ability to reflect on theory and the conceptual accuracy of scientific work.
- By specializing in intersectionality research, the category of gender can be implemented for the intersectional analysis of political processes, interactions, structures and institutions in transnational contexts and applied in research practice.
- Methodological training in the master's program enables students to work independently and empirically, and to analyze scientific studies from the perspective of gender, as well as to assess and evaluate their political scope.
- Through the interdisciplinary and trans-regional expansion of competences, theoretical and methodological knowledge will also be imparted in order to analyze different constructions of gender differences and their representations in trans-regional contexts.
- In addition, the communication and reflection skills enable students to solve complex tasks both independently and in teams and to present the approaches persuasively.
The research-oriented master's program prepares students for a possible doctorate.
